WINERIES: There are 22 Wineries in our Rutherglen region, several with Restaurants, catering for a picnic hamper, BBQ pack to cook at the Winery, and a couple of very up-market Restaurants with top class Chefs. |
RUTHERGLEN'S "Olde World" Shopping strip has maintained the turn of the century look with lovely old shops with ornate verandahs. We have Antique shops plus second-hand shops, local produce Craft Shops, art Galleries and several other interesting, attractive shops. |
DAY TRIPS: Rutherglen is easy driving distance from Beechworth, Bright, Mt. Beauty, Falls Creek, Mt.Buffalo, Chiltern (with 3 National Trust buildings), Lake Mulwala, where a lake cruise is available, and of course Corowa and Howlong are only 10 minutes drive, both with top class grass green Golf Courses. |
BEECHWORTH Is well worth a day visit, especially as we have free coffee vouchers for the Beechworth Bakery with mouth watering treats awaiting you. The tourist shops will 'blow you away' with a huge variety of antique, jewellery, linen & craftwares. |
The other Towns mentioned all have something to delight Tourists, and only 30 to 40 minutes drive, so when considering a visit to Rutherglen, please think about staying with us for 2 or 3 days to take in attractions in the North East of Victoria - Oh, I forgot to say that our weather is not far short of the Gold Coast all year round - we certainly have a very sunny climate - winter & summer. |
